“a web, waves” are companion installations that detail the transmission of information and motion in chaotic environments. The “web” (pictured above) consists of a reel-to-reel tape machine and a 250 foot “loop” of tape. By using long delays, unstable signal routing, and internal feedback, the "web" self-generates static, low drones, and even picks up radio broadcasts without any external impetus. These layers organically shift and modulate each other, resulting in a cloud of sound that slowly cannibalises and regenerates on its own accord.
